ABOUT KYOTO YOGA

On the 18th of June 2017, the 3rd International Day Of Yoga (declared by United Nations) following the initiative taken by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi in 2014, was held in Kyoto with full support of Consul General of India Osaka, Mr. T. Armstrong Changsan & the event Executive Committee members. Over 1400 people got together at Heian Jingu shrine, and India reported this big event all over the world. We want to continue this event every year as “Kyoto Yoga”. Kyoto has been insist Declaration of Kyoto as a City Open to the Free Exchange of World Cultures.

Here in Kyoto everyone gets together regardless of differences and creates new trends of culture. India has a 5000-year long history with Yoga. Confirmation of the intention regarding Confirmation of the intention regarding the Partner City Affiliation between Varanasi and City was signed in August 2014 and now works are heading towards the completion. We hope that “Kyoto Yoga” will be the most symbolic Yoga event for our country, and that Kyoto will become a landmark for Yoga in Japan.
